The CERN Kashima no Tachi Kenjutsu Club (KTK) in collaboration with the Shung Do Kwan Budo Geneva hosted an exceptional kenjutsu seminar with Araya Takashi kancho, director of the Meiji Jingu Shiseikan in Tokyo. The seminar took place in Geneva from June 4th to 8th and was organized over four days of training and one day of visits to local cultural and natural attractions.

The Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine in Tokyo dedicated to the souls of Emperor Meiji and his consort Empress Shoken. The temple is a major spiritual and cultural reference and host many ceremonies and events. It also hosts the Intercultural Research Institute and the Shiseikan or Martial Arts Hall. Shiseikan mission is to promote healthy moral education through training traditional Japanese Budo.

 

This event was organized in collaboration with the International Shiseikan Budo Association (ISBA). It was endorsed by the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to take part in the celebrations for the 150th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Switzerland.
